Abstract:: Abstract: The second half of the eighteenth century marked the end of the long-term reign of Muslims
and the beginning of the British rule in Bengal. This century is doubtlessly a memorable and brought
important change in societal life of Bengal. Just as the Industrial Revolution of the eighteenth century
in England was the outset of a new chapter of modernity, this century also ushered the start of a new
trend in the case of Bengal. Due to the influence of Western culture, new ideas and thoughts emerged
in Bengali society, and they gradually began to move towards modernity. No society in the world can
be formed without women. Women and men are both a complement to each other. The improvement of
women’s situation is absolutely necessary for the development of society. If the condition of Bengali
Muslim women is told, then it comes out that their situation is more deplorable than any other women
in contemporary society. We have seen that throughout the ages, women have found their path of
liberation through education, and getting this educational right was a great struggle in the lives of
Muslim women. The reaction of Bengali Muslims who had recently lost their governing power,
economic power, and social status to British rule, the circumstances of contemporary Bengali Muslim
women, and their changing situation with time will be discussed in this article.
