Abstract::Abstract:Since very early periods in India, and even in the world, there was a system of judiciary. These
judiciaries were two types; civil judiciary system and criminal judicial system. Every country has their
judiciary process according to their law and orders. From very ancient times in India, there was a
judicial process, but it depended on the ruler’s decision, and that continued up to the coming of the
British Periods in India. In the colonial periods, in India, there were princely states; among them was the
Cooch Behar State. In the state of Cooch Behar, there was a criminal judicial system, then the system
depended on the rulers’ decisions, but there was no written code on which the judicial process depended.
The criminal judicial system was in way of the native process, and own rectitude. However, the main aim
of the research is to find out the criminal judiciary System in the Princely State of Cooch Behar overall.
